Big congratulations to Mila D and Tylah T who have been selected in a team of 10 for the U14 Taranaki Basketball Team. Huge effort for this, and bodes well for a good performance in the upcoming AIMS games for our basketball team!!!
CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING
You will notice that the students are out doing their cross country training in the afternoons. We are keeping track of laps this year, and will have our cross country team running in the morning to keep our stats and for goal setting. I have selected students who are keen to prepare for Mt Spa Cross Country, and the Taranaki CC for the morning sessions, but if your child is REALLY keen then they can join as well.
We are doing a challenge at the moment, seeing how far we are running. You can see progress in the images. We have already knocked one goal off, but the Moon might take a bit longer than I had first thought...
CALF AND LAMB DAY TROPHIES
Can all Calf and Lamb day trophies please be returned to the office.
THANKS TO AWATUNA PLAY-CENTRE
Big thanks for the Awatuna Play-centre to visit the school this week. It was great to see prospective students running around the playground and using the pump track. It was unfortunate that the Police couldn't make it, but we look forward to the show next week!!!
TARANAKI BULLS VISIT
We were lucky to have the Bulls visit us today. Few questions were asked, lunch provided by the Bulls, and a "friendly" game of bullrush after. Thanks heaps for coming out to visit, kids were buzzing!!!
REMINDERS FROM LAST WEEK:
OPUNAKE TOUCH REMINDER
A reminder to register your child for the upcoming Touch season in Opunake starting later this term. Registrations will close on Wednesday 5th August. If you are having issues registering your child through the school app, please make contact with the school
Please remember that the school camp for Year 8 is coming up quicker than you think. This is the big cost for many parents, and a reminder that you can arrange payments each week to cover this cost. Be aware that if parents neglect payments, it may effect whether the camp continues to go ahead.
Worth nothing that the cost of the camp for parents is subsidised by the PTA and the school by about 40% already, so please make an effort to ensure payments are made before the camp date.
We do need half the amount deposit ($150) by the the end of this term to confirm numbers.
